Poker Night Blog Re-Visited

I have decided to relaunch the Upminster Poker Ring Blog, its been ages since i updated the service as simply not many players were viewing it. Our latest game is booked for Saturday the 16th of December 2006 at my flat. However we as yet do not have enough palyers to start.



I have purchased some nice kit including new chips and some Red Rock Casino playing cards, so it would eb shame not to play, i will mail all the players involved to drum up interest.

Poker on Friday 23rd of June 2006

Guys,

Poker is ON this Friday; One thing, we are changing the start time as my mum had a stroke on Tuesday, which was a massive shock after her recent illness and operation, thus my dad and i will be at oldchurch until 8pm visiting her. She has been lucky as its a light stoke but its killing both Ernie and i seeing our 'Irene' in such a predicament. Both Ernie and i want to make sure the poker night goes ahead as it will take our minds off the current horrible situation.

Dean will be at my flat as he is coming home from work with me and will give everyone access to wait for Ernie and my arrival at about 8:20-30pm.

New Poker Game

Poker evening this Friday 26th of May 2006 starting at 8pm: Min 4 Players, Max 10 Players

SUPPLIED: No Limit Texas Hold em, Las vegas chips and cards, full baize poker table, selection of Sarnies & Nibbles, plus stripper*

BRING: Beer, Spirits, Cider and £20 for 1500 in 11.5g chips per game

*Stripper comment may be a lie

If 4 players are not available then the game is called off and will be rebooked.

Revised Poker Date

Ok i know you all can't beleive i am a project manager after my mistake on the dates in my email :-)

It seems many people cant make the 14th of April, hence we now going for the following.

Please drop me an email to let me know if you will be there, as per normal i will provide food and 'some' beer/cider but please bring your some of your own booze as well.

Match Report for Poker Evening 24/02/2006

The upminster poker rings monthly game took place at Tony Cossey's flat on Friday 24/02/2006, the evening started at 8pm and after 3 marathon games ended at 03:45am. The regular players were joined by Wayne White a part time poker professional, the claim to fame for Wayne is his 2005 ranking, which currently makes him 830th in Europe, no mean feat. The experience and advice wayne provided our group will enhance future games as now we have adopted amended techniques for dealing and calling our bets, which match the European Poker tour standards, if only our play could match the standards set there :-)

Wayne White won both the initial games of Texas holdem (NO SHOCK THERE), partnered in the final matchup's by Stuart McClemments & Steve Watts respectively. In the third and final game Wayne went out early after misjudging an ALL-IN. The final three players, Richard Thomas, Steve Watts and myself (Tony Cossey) fought for an extended period before a river card spoilt my night and gave us a match up of Steve Versus Richard, which has been a popular final pairing since our regular game started. These final two players played well and ended the evening on a spectacular showdown won by Steve. All-in-all another enjoyable evening was had by everyone, it may be sensible to move our fixture to Saturday as everyone was clearing showing fatigue after the late finish and working all day, this will be reviewed before the next game.

Guys,

Thanks for all the email replies, yes all the comedy kings pointed out that
i meant 4th of February 2006 not january 2006, well it seems that we don't
have enough players for a game this Saturday.

Thus a new suggested date is as follows

Friday 24th of February 2006 8pm @my Flat in Upminster

Please let me know if you can make it.

Friday the 20th of January Poker Night

Guys,

I have had some people confirm to me, the current list is below this
paragraph. As you can see, we could do with one or two (or three) more
players. Our normal poker night rules apply IE £25 buy in for each
game, which we can adjust the buy-in on the night if needed to make it
cheaper for new players. We always have at least two games with at
least 6 players and then play it by ear.
