OK so we have a new format suggested by the 'dream team' of Mitch & Stu, its a combination of a cash game format but with an entry fee and rebuys. our next game on the 6th will be run to this format.....
Here goes.
- Players buy in for £20 and get 2000 in chips
- when a player runs out of chips in the first 90 minutes, they can rebuy for £20 for 1000 chips, then its a fight to the finish.
There are some disadvantages and advantages associated, here is a small list of things which may prompt discussion.
- After a while a player is better off going broke, if you have 600 chips left you just keep going all in as you will have a 1000 if you lose.
- How many games will we fit in?
- People may end up spending more money than we have in past, £60 was your total downside before
- At least nobody has to sit out.
- Its different
- We should try all options so EVERYONE enjoys the night, thats why we are there.
- When you are out its going to be a long wait as there are more chips in play
- If we get dialup rebuys may be scarce :-)
- Instead of limiting rebuys to 90 mins we could have a SINGLE game that lasts for 4 hours, winner is the biggest chip holder. we could have 1st 2nd 3rd as well in this format
- We could just pay for cash - each chip is worth xx in sterling. Riot squad on standby.
On slightly different note why don't we organise a group visit to speilers in Southend in the next few week, we should go mob handed and tooled up of course :-)
